Description
Dodge Charger R/T 440, Citron Yella, 1969
Now, if you know the movie, you know that this Dodge Charger was not the first car involved in the police chase. The gang began their run in a ‘66 Chevy Impala, which they ditch in an effort to further evade police. Fortunately, they just happen to run upon the ‘69 Dodge Charger at a flea market.
Although there has been much debate about the car’s color (green or yellow?), it’s best described as Curious Yellow or Limelight by the Chrysler Corporation, and later dubbed “Citron Yella” by others. The iconic Charger’s look was finished off with a black racing stripe running down both sides of the car.
Under the hood, this car was packing a legendary 440 cubic-inch Magnum engine. Equipped to handle one of the longest car-chase scenes in movie history? You bet!
In order to endure all of the chase scenes and mishaps, production had to enlist a couple of backup Dodge Chargers to take on some of the wear-and-tear.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of an amazing work
